Evermend Wood Stabiliser – Deep Penetrating Epoxy Primer for Timber Repairs

Evermend Wood Stabiliser is a premium, low-viscosity, solvent-free, two-part epoxy primer specially formulated for use with the Evermend Epoxy Wood Repair system. Designed to penetrate deeply into timber, this stabiliser strengthens soft, weakened, or partially decayed wood, reinforcing the substrate before repair.

Thanks to its superior penetration ability, Evermend Wood Stabiliser effectively consolidates fragile timber fibers, ensuring a solid and durable base for subsequent repair products. Acting as a high-performance primer, it significantly improves the adhesion and longevity of epoxy fillers and wood repair compounds applied afterward.

Ideal for use on both vertical and horizontal timber surfaces, this stabiliser helps extend the life of your restoration project by preventing further deterioration and providing a moisture-resistant barrier.

Key Benefits:

Low viscosity for excellent timber penetration

Solvent-free, environmentally friendly formulation

Strengthens soft or damaged timber areas

Enhances adhesion of subsequent epoxy repair products

Easy to apply with brush or roller

Ideal primer for large or small timber restoration projects

Use Evermend Wood Stabiliser as the first crucial step in your wood repair process to ensure stronger, longer-lasting results.

TIP: We always recommend having all materials onsite PRIOR to commencing any restoration project as sometimes delays occur in the courier network which are outside of the control of Lock and Latch.

Installation:

Substrate Preparation

Remove all soft, decayed wood using a suitable tool such as a router or chisel until you reach a solid, sound substrate. Ensure the surface is dry by checking the moisture content (maximum 18%). Remove all loose, friable material and any paint from the areas to be treated. Sand the surface lightly before applying the stabiliser.

Application & Mixing

Condition the containers between 15°C and 25°C before mixing. The mixing ratio is 2 parts resin to 1 part activator. Measure the resin and activator into a separate container and mix thoroughly, making sure to scrape the sides and bottom to achieve a consistent blend.

Apply the stabiliser to the affected timber with a brush, allowing it to penetrate for at least 20 minutes. After penetration, remove any excess stabiliser with absorbent paper.
