Installation:
Installation Instructions:
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from any debris.
Place the fastener on the top face of the meeting rail on the top sash, clear of the glass, and mark the holes for drilling.
Drill two pilot holes, clean off any sawdust, then screw the keep into the timber.
Place the keep on the top face of the bottom meeting rail and align it with the fastener. Test the fastener to ensure it works properly. Mark the holes for drilling.
Drill pilot holes using a small diameter drill bit and clean off the sawdust.
Place the fastener on the timber and screw it into the sash through the pilot holes.
Important Tips:
The screws supplied with our products are made of brass, a soft metal. Always drill pilot holes before hand-screwing into the wood.
Do not use a power drill or screwdriver, as this may damage the screws or their coating.
For easier installation, rub the screw shafts with beeswax before fixing.
Always use the brass screws provided to prevent corrosion caused by mixing different metals like brass and steel, which could damage the screws and spread corrosion to the fastener.
