Installation Instructions for Brighton Fastener
Ensure the installation surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, or any debris to guarantee proper adhesion and secure fixing.
Position the fastener on the top face of the meeting rail on the upper sash, ensuring it is clear of the glass. Mark the locations for the screw holes precisely.
Using a drill with a suitable small-diameter drill bit, carefully create two pilot holes at the marked points. Remove all sawdust or debris from the holes to prevent obstruction.
Securely fasten the keeper (strike plate) to the timber using the provided brass screws, ensuring a flush and firm fit.
Next, place the corresponding keeper on the top face of the bottom meeting rail, aligning it precisely with the fastener. Test the fastener mechanism to ensure smooth engagement and proper alignment.
Mark the screw hole positions on the lower sash, then drill pilot holes using a small-diameter drill bit. Clean the holes thoroughly to remove all dust and debris.
Attach the fastener to the timber by driving the provided brass screws through the pilot holes, securing it firmly to the sash. Avoid using power tools at high speed to prevent damaging the screws or wood.
